Too fast, too furious
It is not my intention to talk about the 'Fast and Furious' movies series which feature car racing now. The title was adopted to describe how I felt about driving in Taipei. Living in this busy city for over forty years, I can understand the hustle and bustle city life and the pressure of life suffered by ordinary people, so, to some extent, I can accept that people have to drive faster than the speed limit allows. However, what makes me, a 20-year veteran driver, intolerable is some malicious behaviors like cutting in without flashing tail lights or along the parallel double white lines, or trying to squeeze in the long waiting line to leave the interchange without waiting their turn, etc. Some reiterated that, in order to let everyone leave and go home happily, driver's education plays a prominent role. However, stricter law enforcement still works the best.
