Ever since the case of tainted lard oil scandal erupted a week ago, we have seen enough company chairpersons weeping in front of TV cameras claiming innocent and central and local government health and food officials passing the buck to one another trying to dodge responsibilities. Among all these despicable characters, one man lets us see there is still hope here in Taiwan. He is Master Ah-chi, a celebrity chef. Last year when another fake oil incident happened, he told the public that if any of the products he endorsed was found inedible, he would get down on his knees, bow his head and apologize. Unfortunately a seasoning oil with him as endorsing celebrity was found contaminated with bad lard this time. Without hesitation, Master Ah-chi kept his words and knelt on his knees apologizing that he was sorry for what had happened.
